Riddle Quest is getting ready for its next chapter: a release on Jest. Over the last few days, I've been expanding the ways people can play and working through the smaller details that make a puzzle game feel dependable.

At its heart, Riddle Quest still starts with a clue. Read the riddle, guess the word, and use colour-coded feedback to work towards the answer. Classic Mode gives you room to keep solving, while the Daily Challenge adds a reason to return tomorrow. The latest updates build on that foundation with live competition, friend challenges, and more rewarding progression.

Race to 10 brings live competition

The biggest addition is live Race to 10 multiplayer. Choose a category, find an opponent, and start together after a shared countdown. Both players receive the same questions, with progress visible throughout the race.

It's a balance of speed and judgement. Hints add 15 seconds to your adjusted time, while skips add 45 seconds. Completing a riddle, including by skipping it, moves your progress counter forward. When both players complete the run, the lower adjusted time wins, and equal times draw. A winner earns 50 coins.

The finish now accounts for those penalties properly. If you finish first after using help, your opponent can still complete within the remaining adjusted-time allowance. That makes choosing a hint or a skip a meaningful part of the race.

A puzzle challenge to share with friends

Riddle Quest also has Challenge a friend, with a private lobby and Jest's native invitation flow. The invited player chooses whether to join before the match begins.

Challenge alerts have controls in Settings and Profile, so players can decide whether they want those reminders. The invitation flow has been checked in a hosted Jest test build; real invitation delivery and device notifications remain part of the launch checks.

Better value from coins and more goals to chase

Help now costs less in solo play:

  • A hint letter costs 25 coins.
  • An extra attempt costs 50 coins.
  • Skipping a Classic riddle costs 100 coins.

Those prices are half their previous amounts. Classic wins now award 25, 40, or 60 coins depending on difficulty, and Daily wins award 75, 100, or 125 coins before applicable streak bonuses. An easy Classic win therefore covers one hint, while tougher riddles reward the extra effort.

There are also 12 new solo achievements, covering wins, riddles played, Classic levels, Daily milestones, streaks, and XP. Their names and descriptions are available across all 16 supported languages. The aim is to give occasional players achievable early goals and regular solvers something longer to work towards.

Smoother play, especially on smaller screens

The latest work has focused on what happens between the obvious steps of a game: typing quickly, moving to the next question, resizing the screen, and recovering when a save fails.

Recent fixes make immediate answer submission use the word you've just typed, prevent unfinished keyboard composition from carrying into a new multiplayer question, and improve how the controls fit after resizing with reduced motion enabled.

Save recovery has also received attention, including clearer feedback when progress has not yet been saved. These are small details individually, but they matter when you're concentrating on a difficult clue or racing another player.

Preparing for the Jest release

On 4 October, validation of the locally built production Jest artifact recorded 3,074 passing core and portal unit tests and 77 distinct passing browser tests across authentication, platform integration, gameplay, and achievements. Additional checks covered live races, invitations, saved-state recovery, startup retry, and builds for all six current targets.

These checks used controlled SDK and backend harnesses. They give useful confidence in the game, while hosted acceptance and platform release checks still need their own evidence.

The Jest release is upcoming, and a public launch date is still to be confirmed. The game has been running in Jest test builds; public publication and review submission remain pending. I'm using this stage to finish verification and polish the experience players will meet at launch.

If you enjoy riddles, word games, or a little friendly competition, keep an eye on Riddle Quest. I'll share the confirmed Jest launch details here when they're ready. For a closer look at the feature changes, read the previous Riddle Quest development update.
